Also, Jagan, if you want your plots to be the same size (you
are paneling different sized plots), then instead of turning
off the tickmark labels for the top three plots, you can
draw them in white:

  res@tmXBLabelFontColor = "white"

When you remove tickmark labels, this causes your plot to be
slightly smaller than the ones that still have their labels,
and hence they won't be the same size when you panel.

If you end up with too much white space between plots,
see examples 6 or 19 at:
