Unless the file(s) you are accessing are available via OPeNDAP

( http://opendap.org/ )

you must download the files to your local server. Also, the version of
NCL you are using must be OPeNDAP enabled.

The code you sent has been modified and attached. It downloads the files
to the local current directory. You can then use addfiles.
