Hi-Ho

Same here: interactive for prototyping / script development,
batch for production / mass processing.
Ability to read GRIB files is also a plus over Matlab.

Since this is becoming kind of a spontaneous survey,
and since Santa Claus is coming to town soon, here is my wish:

The infinitely controllable graphic features are good to produce
publication-quality figures.
However, it would be great to have a quick and dirty standard/barbones
way to plot 1D and 2D (maybe N-D) data on interactive mode,
for quick quality control.

A one-liner, no-frills, minimal options if any,
type of command/function.
Something like "plot(it)",
where "it" is the variable,
with whatever number of dimensions "it" has.
Some overlay
functions/operators would internally digest "it",
and translate "it"s dimensionality and data values into
something pretty to view and easy to understand.

Maybe this exists, but I am not aware of it, and I miss it.

Thanks for NCL, it is a great tool.

Happy Holidays,
Gus Correa
