Re: messed up colors

That color map has 16 colors. The first two are white and black.

The color bar shows 22 contour levels. NCL is just rotatiing through all
the colors.

  Set

    res@gsnSpreadColors = True

Also, it is recommended that all users place the ,hluresfile
located at

     http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Graphics/hlures.shtml

in you home directory.

Specifically, save

     http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Graphics/hluresfile

to your home directory and rename it

     mv hluresfile .hluresfile
