Dennis, yes, it's interesting. If I use  xWind        = skewtx (54. , skewty(presWind(0)))  ;location of vertical bar where wind barbs originate xpWind = skewtx (54. , skewty(1013.) ) ; location of wind  barbs the wind barbs plot just to the left of the vertical bar indicating heights. If I use (55) for the value the barbs plot right on the vertical height bar. If I go bigger, say (56), the wind barbs plot to the right of the vertical height bar, but the vertical bar originating the wind barbs disappears. The only reason I started this whole process is because I'm plotting in X11 and part of the pseudoadiabatic diagram shows up on white, so the white wind barbs overlaying it weren't showing. Perhaps the easiest thing would be to keep the pseudoadiabatic diagram colors, the wind barb location, and the vertical ht bar location the same, but (1)change the background color to white (2)change the vertical bar and its associated wind barbs to black (3) change the vertical height bar and its associated height values to black Could you tell me which attributes those would be -- (1)dataOpts_at_...=white (background color) (2)dataOpts_at_...=black (vertical bar where wind barbs originate) (3)dataOpts_at_...=black (wind barbs) (4)dataOpts_at_...=black  (vertical ht bar) (5)dataOpts_at_...=black (height values associated with 4) thanks much, Steve ________________________________ From: Dennis Shea <shea_at_ucar.edu> To: steve kirby <thin_runner_at_yahoo.com> Cc: "ncl-talk_at_ucar.edu" <ncl-talk_at_ucar.edu> Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 1:57 PM Subject: Re: skewT I would have thought the following would do it.
