WRFUserARW.ncl help

Hi, I am currently using NCL version 5.0.0. I realize this is an older
version but I do not have access to updating it at this time. I have
downloaded a recent version of the WRFUserARW.ncl script and put it in the
directory where my run files are (not the actual NetCDF library). This
seems to work for older wrf variables such as slp (sea level pressure) but I
have been trying to plot pvo (potential vorticity) and it says wrf_pvo is
undefined. However, when I look in the WRFUserARW file, wrf_pvo is there.
I was just wondering if it is possible to use any of the new functions after
version 5.0.0 such as this wrf_pvo, as well as wrf_user_ij_to_ll, and
various other ones without having to download the new source code?

Thank you,
Chris
