Hi Madeleine,
Without seeing your script, there's a whole bunch of possibilities. By
default, mpFillOn = True, and the continents are color filled gray. If
you are also color filling a contour field, or don't have gray in your
colormap, then the continents may not appear. You can turn the
continental outlines on by setting mpOutlineOn = True. If the above
doesn't help then please respond to ncl-talk and include your script.
