reading TIGGE grib2 format data

Hi
I downloaded TIGGE data in grib2 format but having problem with either
converting it into netcdf (for grads that I'm more familiar) or reading all
of it (using addfile) I guess due to the 2Gig barrier. Is there a way
around ?
I'm new in NCL, just thinking of maybe loading part of the file ...
