Hi Alan,

Yes, that ticket had been on the back burner, but rather
coincidentally, I have been looking into it this week. I don't have it
all sorted out yet, but I can say its a build-configuration issue on
our part (I presume you installed NCL from binaries?). I also think
its innocuous, and fontconfig is known to generate that message for a
variety of reasons in other contexts. I haven't seen that there's a
noticeable performance hit, but please confirm if that's the case --
perhaps there are installation-dependent behaviors we need to be aware
of.

I short, we'll get it fixed up.
