Without seeing your code, we can't tell what the problem might be.

It looks like you might be calling two panel plots. If so, you may want to see example 15 at:

http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/panel.shtml#ex15

Note that gsnMaximize is *not* set to True. This is important for a plot like this.
