For multiple bar charts on one plot, see example #5:

For changing the pattern for each bar, scroll down to example #8. You
will need to use

gsnAboveYRefLineBarPatterns resource.
For putting the little labelbar in the upper left corner, you could
follow the technique of using gsn_labelbar_ndc shown in examples 7 and 9.
