Hello Dennis,

this was exactly the information I was looking for - this was missing
in my script:

wind_speed@lat2d = lat2d
wind_speed@lon2d = lon2d

FYI, I have certain lat/lon boundaries that I need to use in
mpLimitMode = "LatLon". Now I am able to set these without errors and
create my plots as I need.
