Clip data outside CONUS?

Can anyone suggest an easy way to clip data outside the continental US? I'm comparing WRF precip to PRISM pricip, and the latter only has data over the CONUS land. I'm using wrf_countour to plot the monthly total WRF precip, but I'd like to suppress plotting the contours over the oceans.
