Projecting model data into the spatial patterns of observations

Dear NCL users,

I would like to compare model results with observations by projecting model
data (lat,lon,time) in to the spatial patterns (EOFs) of observations (lat,
lon, time) so as to work with the resulting PCs. I would highly appreciated
your help on how to accomplish this.
