LCL and CAPE in skewt_func.ncl

Hi,

I have a question. What is the use of the subroutine
      cape = cape_thermo(p,tc,plcl,iprnt)
in skewt_func.ncl ?
It recomputes the plcl, but in a weird way in my sense.
In my case, it recomputes the LCL to be at the first level, which is
not saturated.
The saturation occurs at 951.9 mb, not at 994 mb. Why does this
subroutine recomputes the LCL pressure??

Many thanks
