Hi Mike,

Take a look at the Application Equations Example page:
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/eqn.shtml

Click on "the complete set" in example 1, gamma is drawn via a "G".
Example one also shows how to change the font using your text function
code, whether you have set it in your .hluresfile to ~ or by using the
default : ...
