Dear all,

I’ve been trying to install NCL on CentOS 6. I am following indications from this webpage: http://pkgs.org/centos-6/epel-x86_64/netcdf-4.1.1-3.el6.5.x86_64.rpm.html
on which there is a How To Install Section.

Install Howto

  1. Download the latest epel-release rpm from
    http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/
  2. Install epel-release rpm:
    # rpm -Uvh ncl*rpm
  3. Install netcdf rpm package:
    # yum install netcdf

Step 2 gives me the following response in the Terminal.

[root@kiasu ~]# rpm -Uvh ncl*rpm
warning: ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID 0608b895: NOKEY
error: Failed dependencies:
libgdal.so.1()(64bit) is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64
libhdf5.so.6()(64bit) is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64
libhdf5_hl.so.6()(64bit) is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64
libnetcdf.so.6()(64bit) is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64
ncl-common = 6.0.0-3.el6 is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64
udunits2 is needed by ncl-6.0.0-3.el6.x86_64

I tried to install the missing libraries “manually”, but for each library, I only get a longer and longer list of failed dependencies.
Has anyone already have the same issue?

Many thanks and best regards,

Eve
