Problem about using command "obj_anal_ic "

Hi,
I am a student using NCL.I do not know which type of objective analysis the
command "obj_anal_ic " use. Also, I am using Barnes analysis
for analyzing data. The command "obj_anal_ic_deprecated" represent both
Cressman and Barnes analysis. This command require us to set the radius of
influence, but Barnes analysis do not depend on radius of influence instead
there is a smoothing parameter for controlling the fall-off of the weighting
of the station. How can we set it? Thanks.
