Hi,

As i know that there is no spacial routine or function to do that. I
fact that the main path of the trajectories can be represented by using
clustering approach. In this case, at the beginning you have to split
the trajectories into meaningful groups or clusters and then you can
calculate the main path by simply defining a curve (it could be cubic
splines or 5th-6th order polynomial) that represents the particular
group. Without using clustering step, you might get incorrect results. I
think that the following MATLAB toolbox can help to apply clustering to
create set or groups of trajectory.

You can also find a NCL plot that use the results of this toolbox as an
attachment. I hope, it helps to you.

Best regards,
