Xin,

Correct, you can't use RasterFill in this case.

If you don't like the look of CellFill, did you try using AreaFill?

One other thing I did to get rid of the gray land was to set:

    res@mpFillOn = False

Of course, if you want the gray land, then don't set this resource.

I see your other question:

   "One quick question on your plots, did you use satellite projection
on each granule?"

I'm not sure what you mean, but Dave Brown may be able to answer
better than I.
