I don't think such a function exists. The WRF output parameters RAINC and RAINNC give accumulated convective and large-scale rainfall, respectively, from the start of the simulation (i.e. total rain = rainc + rainnc). I think you'll just have to make a simple script to subtract the rain accumulated up to the start of the month from that up to the end of the month.

I was wondering is there any ncl WRF function for calculating monthly
total rainfall from 3 hourly WRF history file or does any one have
written any ncl script to do so.
