Hi Hussain

The NCL home page is another good place to start:

http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/

The NCL functions specific for CESM data are documented here:

http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/cesm.shtml

What do you mean by
"transfer file from ex=AA to different shell ex BB"?

Have you tried to "ncdump -h" the files to see if
the variables have long names, which may shed some light on
what they are?

ncdump -h b40.rcp8_5.1deg.007.cam2.h0.TREFMNAV.200501-210012.nc

I hope this helps,
Gus Correa
