Hello,
Generally when setting mpMinLonF/mpMaxLonF you should set
res@mpCenterLonF = (res@mpMinLonF+res@mpMaxLonF)/2.
Thus I would set res@mpCenterLonF = 250. and see if that works for you.

If that doesn't work, please respond to the ncl-talk email list and let
everyone know..
