Hi Mateus,

I noticed this had gone unanswered, so I pinged the wrfhelp folks
about this. The response is just that the rip*xxxx functions have a
bug in them, and they recommend people use the wrf_cape_xx functions.

So, yes, there are differences between the two. Don't use the rip_xxx
ones anymore.
