bars instead markers

Dear All,

I would like to add polymarker on top of a map like example 3 and
example 8 in webpage http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/polyg.shtml

But instead of using markers, I would like to use colored bars with
different widths and heights (manually controlled).

Is there any example in NCL which will help me o do that.
