Plotting WRF Polar Stereographic Output onto Orthographic Projection

I am having difficulty modifying the WRF NCL scripts to appropriately
plot polar stereographic data onto a full polar orthographic projection.

The input data is on a 270 x 270 grid, with lat/lon being among the
gridded variables and not a array coordinate to my variables of interest
(temp, pres, winds). NCL is new to me, but it appears that the current
functions create a plot area based upon the lat/lon boundaries, then
plots the rest of the data based upon the grid, without any 'true'
association between the lat/lon and plotted data.

When attempting the use the polar orthographic sample script, it
complains about the lack of coordinate array units (since there is no
coordinate array) and appears to use the grid points as degrees
(plotting 3 quarters of the globe, beginning at the prime meridian).

How do I go about associating my data with the appropriate lat/lon
coordinates and getting it onto the projection?

Any advice is appreciated,

Walter
