MapPlot example 1
How to use basic MapPlot capabilities
This example can be created using HLU C and FORTRAN library calls or NCL. It demonstrates how to create a MapPlot object using the defaults, and it also shows how to change the map projection, grid spacing, and set map boundaries in subsequent frames. The names of the source files for this example are mp01c.c, mp01f.f, and mp01n.ncl.
Discussion
This module discusses how to create this map plot using HLU function calls and a resource file. The resource file used in this example is called mp01.res.A detailed discussion of how this example works appears in its source code.
Creating the plot using HLUs
The HLU C program that generates this plot is called mp01c.c.
Creating the plot using HLU FORTRAN library calls
The HLU FORTRAN program that generates this plot is called mp01f.f.
Creating the plot using NCL
The NCL script that generates this plot is called mp01n.ncl.
The data
This plot does not use any external data.
How to run this example
This example can be generated using a C program (mp01c.c), a FORTRAN program (mp01f.f), or an NCL script (mp01n.ncl). The examples are installed in the following locations:
- $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/hluex/mapplot/mp01c.c
- $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/hluex/mapplot/mp01f.f
- $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/nclex/mapplot/mp01n.ncl
