Object-oriented NCL and HLU Examples

NCL's underlying graphics use objected oriented ("OO") methodologies. Examples using the OO approach are available in this section. However, most users prefer to use a suite of high level graphical interfaces, called GSUN. The GSUN based functions and procedures do not require knowledge of the underlying OO methods. The examples in the Applications pages use the GSUN interfaces.

Note: we recommend that users install the .hluresfile in their home directory regardless of which approach is used.

Most of the examples in this section are available as NCL scripts and HLU ("High Level Utilities") programs, which can be written in C or Fortran.
