TextItem example 6

How to set text justification

This example can be created using HLU C library calls, HLU FORTRAN calls, or NCL. This example demonstrates how to set the justification point of a text string. The names of the source files for this example are tx06c.c, tx06f.f, and tx06n.ncl.

Discussion

This module discusses how to create this plot using HLU function calls or NCL. A resource file is not used with this example.

A detailed discussion of how this example works appears in its source code.

Creating the plot using HLU C library calls

The HLU C program that generates this plot is called tx06c.c.

Creating the plot using HLU FORTRAN library calls

The HLU FORTRAN program that generates this plot is called tx06f.f.

Creating the plot using NCL

The NCL script that generates this plot is called tx06n.ncl.

The data

This plot does not use any external data.

How to run this example

You can produce this example by using a C program (tx06c.c), a FORTRAN program (tx06f.f), or an NCL script (tx06n.ncl). The examples are installed in the following locations:

  • $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/hluex/textitem/tx06c.c
  • $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/hluex/textitem/tx06f.f
  • $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/nclex/textitem/tx06n.ncl
You can copy this example and run it by typing "ng4ex tx06c", "ng4ex tx06f", or "ng4ex tx06n". A copy of the source file will be placed in your current working directory. The source code will be compiled and automatically run for you.
